Action plan for facilitators

This action plan invites facilitators to take an active role in inspiring change within their communities. By using creativity, dialogue, and collaboration, facilitators can guide youth to explore important issues, express themselves artistically, and make a real, positive impact. It's a chance to lead, experiment, and see the transformative power of art in action.

  1. 1. Identify a local issue

Choose a specific local issue relevant to the community (e.g. inequality, environment, mental health).

  2. 2. Use ART-ivism to help the local community

Choose a creative method — such as theatre, street art, storytelling, performance, or land art — to raise awareness or spark dialogue around the selected issue.

  3. 3. Evaluate and scale up

Gather feedback from the workshops, refine the approach, and then expand the initiative to a broader audience or region.

Evaluation & impact

Facilitators can assess the impact of artivism workshops by measuring changes in participants' knowledge, skills, and attitudes. For example, in sessions inspired by the Guerrilla Girls, facilitators can:

  • Use pre- and post-assessments to track changes in understanding of issues like gender inequality or discrimination.
  • Gather feedback through surveys or reflections to learn what worked well and what could improve.
  • Observe participants' engagement and creative expression to see how effectively the activities inspire dialogue and critical thinking.

This approach ensures workshops are both engaging and impactful.
