About the Halan We Grow project
Halan We Grow is a youth empowerment initiative that unites civil society organizations from the Southern Mediterranean and Europe to address pressing regional challenges, including unemployment, gender inequality, climate change, and the erosion of civic spaces.
At its core, the project champions non-formal education (NFE) as a tool to build self-confidence, social inclusion, and active citizenship, with a strong focus on reaching young women and marginalized youth in rural and underserved areas.
Rooted in gender equality, sustainability and youth participation, the project aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals — especially SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions).
